2nd Storrington Guides

We are a friendly girl guide troop who meet in the village of Storrington at the foot of the South Downs in West Sussex.

We have a modern purpose-built Guide Hall where we meet on Wednesday evenings during term time.

We get up to sorts of things, including arts, crafts, cooking, sports (indoor and outdoor), theatre and of course the favourite summertime activity of camping (come rain or shine!) and wintertime sleepovers. We are very lucky in being situated at the foot of the South Downs, giving us an excellent venue for some of the more adventurous activities.

We also take part in local community activities such as carnival parades, and the flag ceremony on Remembrance Sunday at the village Cenotaph

Since the unit is full and we have an ever-growing waiting list, we are currently considering setting up a senior section for the older girls. This is being planned by the girls themselves, but as always, we are likely to be short of adult volunteers.

...and just to set the record straight, there is no 1st Storrington guides!

We are very lucky in having a large, modern guide hall which not only plays host to Guiding activies such as Rangers, Guides, Brownies and Pack Holidays, but also during term time mornings, it is the home of the Browns Lane Pre-school and Busy Bee Class. The Hall is also available for community bookings.

We are actively looking for sponsorship to help us replace some of our very out-dated equipment. If you think that you would like to help then please contact us. 2nd Storrington Guides are grateful to the following local sponsors:

During term-time, the hall is also used by the Browns Lane Pre-School and Busy Bee Class. Click here to see their website.
