Big Gig 22nd/23rd October 2005
Following the success of the Big Gig in Manchester last year, we were again able to get tickets for this year's concert at the NEC near Birmingham. We made a weekend of it by staying overnight at a scout hall near Coventry.
We left Storrington bright and relatively early on Saturday morning and after a very slow journey the minibus arrived at the
Scout Hall (the accompanying car found a less direct route there!). After freshening up and a quick meal, it was off to the
NEC to join over 10000 other Guides for the Big Gig. The concert was excellent with sessions from Lee Ryan, Tony Christie,
Girls Aloud, Simon Webbe, Jo O'Meara, Rachel Stevens, Jenny Frost, Liberty X and Friday Hill.
Before going to bed, we had time to celebrate a birthday with cake and drinks.
After a good night's sleep, we were up and breakfasted before setting off to our second attraction of the weekend. Cadbury World was not a long drive from the Scout Hall, and we were soon there, sampling the delights of the shop there before going on a tour of the factory.
After much chocolate (but not too much), we made our way back to Storrington in a minibus significantly heavier than the day
before!
A huge thank-you to Sandy, Cheryl and Kellie for helping with the cars, the driving, the cooking and the general organising.
