Mardi Gras Weekend at Lodgehill

This was a sleepover at the Lodge Hill Activity Centre.

We arrived on the Saturday morning and got straight into making masks for the Mardi Gras celebration on Sunday. In the afternoon the Brownies did a Treasure Trail, and the Guides participated in a number of team games in brilliant sunshine. We followed this with some costume making, making percussion instruments and some dancing, again in preparation for the celebration. In the evening, after dinner, the Brownies watched a film, whilst the Guides held a karaoke party. Some of us showed that we even had some singing talent.

Sunday morning started with a practice carnival procession. We were then joined by our guests including the Division Commissioner, and we performed our carnival procession and dance, complete with dragon. We finished off with a candlelit Thinking Day service.

A terrific weekend where a good time was had by all.
