Semaphore, 6th May 2008

On a very warm spring evening, we set about making semaphore flags ready to start texting each other using this old technique. Each girl had to make one flag, which involved sawing and filing the wood, fixing the flag, and learning some of the letters.

We ran out of time before we could complete our crash course in semaphore, but there was time do some practice and rehearsal. Hopefully, we will be able to learn the remaining letters and try passing messages in the near future.
