Fall Fair: 11th Sept 2010
This was the sixth Fall Fair and up until now we had been so lucky with the weather. This year it was somewhat cooler with some drizzle. However, despite this the attendance was good, and those that came had a really good time.
Chris Evans, with help from other leaders and explorers built the abseil tower in the morning, then in the afternoon, the Rangers, Guides and Brownies (some of them sponsored) were able to try it out. This year, rather than climbing a ladder, the girls had to use the climbing wall to get to the top for a bit of added excitement!
We had many other new attractions as well, ranging from craft stalls, to a bouncy castle and a coconut shy. Refreshments were provided in the form of homemade cakes, and a barbecue. Teas, coffee and squashes all proved popular again this year.
The abseil tower was as popular as ever, we had some experienced Rangers and Guides (and leaders) showing what they could do, as well as some of the Brownies trying it for the first time.
Very many thanks to Chris Evans and his helpers who worked tirelessly all day on the abseil tower. We very much appreciate their help.
